Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT, Ranney Michaels!

Three questions with Sharon Ranney, founder of Ranney Michaels.

Why did you start your business?

We started the business based on our desire to create an efficient and enjoyable design/build process for our clients. We recognized the frustrations and obstacles most people face when committing to a new project and our goal is to create a positive experience resulting in beautiful design and high-quality construction.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. "I wish I could…"

I wish I could bottle up the newfound joy and excitement people experience after moving into their new spaces. This feeling transforms people’s lives in the best way possible and it’s the most rewarding part of our job.

What is your best selling product/service?

Our best selling service is our Design/Build process specializing in residential remodeling and renovations. Our team is intimately involved in each phase of architecture, design, and construction offering a streamlined process from start to finish. We have unique expertise in the preservation of historic homes and extensive experience in navigating all phases of permitting and Town approvals.

Sharon would like to nominate Jordan Ranney – Auto Repair to be featured next!
