What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?
Our Fairfield location had less than 6 months of sales before this crisis hit and this is a difficult time to be a new business. The best way that people can help is simply shopping in small local businesses, like BD Provisions, over larger chains or e-commerce sites. The best FREE way that people can help is simply to spread the word for small businesses- share our page to your network with a recommendation, leave a positive review on Yelp, Facebook or Google, or post about us on a local social media page. Businesses are struggling and most won't have the funds to devote to marketing so they need your help to get back on their feet!
Are you offering any new products or ways for customers to purchase your products or services that are popular during this crisis?
Yes- we starting offering curbside pickup immediately as COVID started to hit. Customers can visit our website and see a list of everything that the store offers and then either call or email in their orders. We would then contact them when it was ready to pick up and when they arrived, we would bring everything right to their car. Our customers love this service so this is something we will continue to offer even after opening our doors to shoppers. We are working on making the ordering process more seamless as well as offering additional products for online shopping in the near future.
We have adopted numerous safety protocols to protect our customers and employees. Our POS system is behind a plexiglass screen, our floors have arrows for traffic flow and 6-foot markers for social distancing, and all employees and customers are required to wear a mask. Additionally, we provide sanitizer at the door and ask that customers sanitize and put on a pair of disposable gloves (that we supply) to scoop products from our bins. Our employees take their temperature before every shift and are instructed to limit the numbers of shoppers in-store. Since reopening on May 30th, our customers have started to come back to enjoy the store and have not only been compliant with the new rules, but grateful that we are looking out for their safety.
