FAIRFIELD, CT – The Fairfield Museum and History Center is pleased to welcome a pollinator garden to the Museum grounds this summer courtesy of rising Eagle Scout Adam Jehle, and with the support of Boy Scouts of America Troop 90, the Sasqua Garden Club, Native Nursery and the Town of Fairfield DPW.
In his pursuit of Eagle Scout rank with Boy Scout Troop 90 of Fairfield, Adam cultivated the idea to plant a pollinator garden and help revitalize the local bee population as part of his community project. The Fairfield Museum provided Adam with the perfect location to plant the garden and the team got to work. To support the project, the Sasqua Garden Club of Southport generously funded the effort, Native Nursery of Fairfield offered a discount on the pollinator plants Adam selected for the garden, and the Fairfield DPW lent a hand by providing the tools and topsoil needed to plant and finish the garden.
The Fairfield Museum is once again open to the public every day from 10AM to 4PM and the Museum’s Research Library is open by appointment only from Wednesday through Saturday.
