FAIRFIELD, CT – The Norma Pfriem Breast Center (NPBC) has been reaccredited by the prestigious National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) for meeting high standards in patient care quality, patient and staff education and other important areas. The accreditation covers the Breast Center’s locations in Bridgeport, Fairfield and Trumbull.
The surveyor was impressed with the center’s staff, including its navigators, healthcare providers, and bilingual staff who can communicate directly with non-English speaking patients. He also cited the center’s “robust” support, rehabilitation and outreach programs, all of which are offered free, thanks to the center’s private fundraising.
“The Norma Pfriem Breast Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive and coordinated breast care to the community,” says Dr. Mehra Golshan, clinical director of breast services. “Only the top tier of breast centers are recognized by the National Accreditation Program of Breast Centers.”
“The breadth of our support programs is unique in our region,” says Donna Twist, PhD, executive director. “We are grateful to our donors for making our programs available to all patients, regardless of their financial situation and insurance status.”
The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) is a consortium of national, professional organizations dedicated to the improvement of the quality of care and the monitoring of outcomes for patients with diseases of the breast.
