SHU Ranks in Top 10 in CT for Post-Grad Salaries for 2021

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Sacred Heart University rates as one of the top ten Connecticut colleges and universities for post-graduation salary, according to GradReports’ “2021 Best Colleges” rankings. GradReports determined schools’ positions by calculating a “salary score” based on median alumni salary collected one year after graduation for more than 4.6 million alumni nationwide. Data was retrieved from the U.S. Department of Education’s December 2020 College Scorecard, which contains information on students who collected federal financial aid. Sacred Heart’s collective salary score averaged higher than the U.S. median of 50.

When calculating scores for each of Sacred Heart’s individual programs, GradReports only compared data with schools offering the same tracks for a more accurate comparison. Of Sacred Heart’s bachelor’s degrees, accounting received the highest salary score, with nursing following closely behind. Among the master’s degree programs, physical and occupational therapy achieved the top salary score, trailed by accounting and communication disorders.

Sacred Heart has more than 49,000 alumni in all 50 states and over 50 countries. The Center for Career & Professional Developmentprovides SHU alumni with resources and assistance regarding professional job searches. Alumni who have earned a degree from the University have access to designated staff who offer preparatory services such as résumé and cover letter review, interview preparation, job search assistance, graduate and professional school advising and career coaching.

“Sacred Heart University is the type of school where you are family, not just a number,” said Megan Saunders ’17, who gave Sacred Heart a five-star review on GradReports’ website. “Where teachers spend sleepless nights helping you reach your highest potential. Where you walk on campus and people are smiling and calling your name. This is not just a school; it is my second home.”
