Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Yoga Synergy!

Four questions with Lisa and Mike Troknya, founders of Yoga Synergy.

Why did you start your business?

My husband and I started Yoga Synergy so his chiropractic patients can have a place to rehabilitate and stay healthy, and injury-free.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Our best-selling service is our Hot Vinyasa Classes at our Sportsplex location.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

A lot of our community, as well as staff, love going to the Stand after yoga for an avocado toast or a smoothie. We are also a close-knit community at Yoga Synergy and often like to visit local restaurants together after class for some community building.

We have sponsored many charity events including recently for Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse that was held at the Fairfield Community Theatre.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Yoga Synergy is expanding with more workshops and looking ahead we are going to begin a Yoga Teacher Training, as well as hosting retreats.

Lisa and Mike would like to nominate Physical Synergy to be featured next!

Yoga Synergy is located at 85 Mill Plain Road in Fairfield. Visit Yoga Synergy online here, and make sure to check out their Facebook page as well!
