FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Sacred Heart University has earned recognition once again from U.S. News & World Report as one of the best universities in the nation. Additionally, the publisher ranked SHU’s undergraduate nursing and business programs among the best in the country.
This is the third year that SHU has been included in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Colleges ranking of national universities. According to the company’s website, schools in this category, “offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master’s and doctoral programs, and emphasize faculty research or award professional practice doctorates.”
“This recognition is a testament to the educational excellence and successful outcomes we provide our students,” said SHU President John J. Petillo. “We are proud of our students, faculty and staff who work hard to ensure the SHU experience is exceptional. We are pleased to be included again in this ranking among other excellent institutions.”
This is the first year U.S. News & World Report offered a ranking of bachelor of science in nursing programs. These rankings are based solely on the judgments of deans and senior faculty members of nursing schools and departments at institutions around the country. The Dr. Susan L. Davis, R.N., & Richard J. Henley College of Nursing was one of 694 accredited schools to be listed.
For the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology and other universities’ business programs in the U.S., the rankings are based on peer assessments. SHU was one of 514 undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International to be ranked.
The U.S. News & World Report’s rankings and Best Colleges 2022 guidebook help prospective students find information on colleges and universities that suit their preferences. The guide includes information about application requirements, financial aid, student body characteristics and post-graduate employment.
