Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

Three questions with Ryan Moss, founder of Ryan Moss Insurance.

Why did you start your business?

I began in the insurance industry looking for a way to earn a living and help others. I felt as though working as an insurance agent would allow me to help people when they are at their worst. Apart from getting a policy started for someone and helping them save some money, we are there for them when a catastrophe strikes.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Personal Insurance needs like Auto, Homeowner’s, and Flood Insurance. If you can own it, I can find coverage for it! As an independent agent, I am able to work with more than just one insurance company to find the best value policy available for our clients.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I work with more than I could count! As an insurance agent, I do a lot of work with local realtors and loan officers. Recently, I have worked with The Higgins Group, The Vanderblue Team, William Raveis Real Estate – Southport, Coldwell Banker Realty – Fairfield Office, Neat Loans, and Fairway Independent Mortgage.

Ryan would like to nominate Outdoor Living and Design as a company to be featured next!
