Fairfield Chamber Announces Legacy Buy-A-Brick Project

Fairfield, CT - The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, in celebration of its 75th Anniversary, and in partnership with the Town of Fairfield, is happy to announce an exciting and new legacy brick project, which will feature and give special recognition to Fairfield’s Local Business Community.

On Thursday, May 19th, Fairfield’s First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick and Mark Barnhart, Director of Community and Economic Development, met at the site along with Beverly Balaz, President of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce; Kevin Brady, Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors, and Bronson Hawley, Chairman, Board of Directors, Oaklawn Cemetery and Arboretum, to review where the center medallion and bricks will be installed, and discuss the new landscaping design options around the semi-circle.

The Town and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Chamber invites Fairfield local businesses and organizations to become a part of Fairfield’s downtown streetscape, by purchasing a commemorative brick in celebration of the Chamber’s 75th Anniversary.  Businesses, non-profits, and other organizations will have the opportunity to see their company name (also available w/logo), for all to view and enjoy in years to come.

First Selectwoman Kupchick remarked, “This is a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to leave a lasting legacy in downtown Fairfield. I want to thank all involved who helped make this program come together and look forward to seeing the redesigned streetscape.”

In celebration of the Chamber’s 75th Anniversary, the Chamber would like to pay tribute to the local business community, acknowledge the importance of our local business community, and recognize 75 years of dedicated Chamber support to the local business community.  (The Chamber’s 75th Anniversary was actually in 2021, but because of covid, the project was delayed).

Brick installation date is tentatively scheduled for this fall 2022.

The bricks purchased through this fundraiser program, will partially be used to help beautify and reconstruct the existing semicircle pocket park alongside the Fairfield Public Library on the Post Road, in the heart of downtown Fairfield.  These bricks will be installed as part of a Town streetscape enhancement project, tentatively planned for later this year.

“We encourage our local Fairfield organizations, non-profits, and business community – (especially family-owned businesses), to have their business or organization names represented within the community, by being part of this lasting commemorative brick installation in the heart of downtown Fairfield,” states Beverly Balaz, Chamber President. “This will truly become a historic spot in the future, featuring our Fairfield local business community as it exists today, for all to see in the future, as a look-back and “Remember when … “

Beverly continues,“It is with great appreciation, that we would like to recognize and thank our two Fairfield sponsors: Oak Lawn Cemetery and Arboretum, who will donate the center Recognition Medallion and Outdoor Design & Living, who will provide enhanced and beautiful landscaping around the perimeter of the semi-circle area.  Both of these sponsors will add a design element of beauty for everyone to enjoy, in years to come.”

Fairfield businesses/organizations “only”, whose address is in Fairfield, may purchase a 4"x 8" or an 8"x 8" commemorative brick. The standard 4”x8” brick option allows a business to engrave up to 4 lines of text with 18 characters on each line. The 8”x 8” larger brick allows up to 6 lines of text with 18 characters on each line. Lastly, an 8”x 8” Corporate Logo brick is available with company logo and up to 3 lines of text. The deadline to purchase an engraved Brick is August 15, 2022
