Fairfield Assists New Business Venture

Fairfield, CT - The Fairfield Department of Community & Economic Development is pleased to announce its latest micro-enterprise assistance grant awarded to LMB Enterprises, LLC, now located at 6 Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield. The grant has enabled LMB Enterprises to purchase furnishings and equipment associated with its new business location in Fairfield.

LMB Enterprises (https://www.etsy.com/shop/LilinMomo) is primarily an e-commerce retailer that designs and produces customized decals, murals, wallpaper, wall-coverings and signage for all occasions. Owners Lisa Belvedere and Mohammad Hayajneh started LMB as a home-based business. Her business surged during the pandemic, so much so that Lisa and Mohammad quickly realized that they could no longer fulfil orders from the attic in their home. As a result, the duo began searching for a new location, and happily found a spot at 6 Tunxis Hill Road.

The Micro-Enterprise Assistance Program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It is intended to provide entrepreneurs with training, technical assistance, and startup capital in order to create and sustain viable and productive small businesses in Fairfield. The program seeks to strengthen and enhance these small businesses, with the ultimate goal of increasing employment opportunities for low- and moderate-income persons. In order to be eligible, applicants must be a recognized form of commercial enterprise that employs five or fewer employees, have its primary operations in Fairfield, and current on all tax obligations. Since the inception of the program, the Town has assisted more than fifty small businesses.

“We’re delighted to help, and always excited to welcome new business to Fairfield,” stated Mark Barnhart, Director of the Department of Community & Economic Development. “Small businesses such as LMB Enterprises have long been the backbone of our economy, and the Micro-Enterprise Program has been a very useful tool in our small business development strategy,” he added. Ms. Belvedere remarked, “We’re very happy with the support that we have received thus far from the Town. We look forward to serving the greater Fairfield community for many years to come.”
