The Maritime Aquarium Welcomes Homeschool Families

Norwalk, CT – The Maritime Aquarium invites homeschool families to visit the Aquarium and participate in award-winning, hands-on educational programming on Wednesday, March 29 for “Homeschool Day.”

“These biannual events are special opportunities for homeschool students,” said Vice President of Education Tom Naiman. “They get to experience programs and work with Aquarium educators just like our school groups! During these sessions, students are encouraged to think critically, and build a deeper connection with nature and the world around us.”

Homeschool Day features 10 grade-appropriate programs that meet Next Generation Science Standards through animal encounters, scientific investigations, and even a cruise on Long Island Sound. Students interested in participating in these programs must be registered in advance.

The deadline to register for discounted admission and add-on programs is Monday, March 27 at 5 p.m. Discounted admission tickets are $14 for children ages 3 through 12, and $19 for adults. To receive this discount, use promo code “HSD23” when adding tickets to your cart. Program prices range from $3 to $8 per student, with the exception of the Science on the Sound Cruise, which is $30 per passenger.
