Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT 3DuxDesign!
Three questions with Ayana and Ethan Klein, founders of 3DuxDesign.
Why did you start your business?
We decided to launch 3DuxDesign to provide children with hands-on fun and engaging learning experience. As teens, we found learning with textbooks and homework boring and with no real-world application. So we designed a cardboard-based modeling system and projects that allow kids to learn while they imagine the design and build.
What is your best-selling product/service?
For kids at home, our best-selling product is our Go-Pack Maker kit. You can check it out here. And also, the Go-Pack Maker Kit PRO (with LED lighting). For teachers, our best seller is the classroom kit.
Working within the community has been at the heart of our company since we started. We source all of our cardboard components and packaging at Valley Container, only 1 mile from our factory! We also work with multiple schools and after-school programs, providing them with both materials and lessons for their students. We love to visit kids in schools and share our entrepreneurial experience with the next generation. We have done that with live school visits in the past and now through zoom.
3DuxDesign is located at 1555 Westport Turnpike in Fairfield. Visit 3DuxDesign online here, and make sure to check out their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages as well!
