Solarize Fairfield Offers Pre-Tariff Pricing on Panels

Fairfield, CT—The Solarize Fairfield program is coming to an end February 22nd, so residents who want to install solar on their home through the program need to participate soon.

Panel prices across the US are expected to increase in response to the recently announced 30 percent tariff on foreign panels, but Fairfield homeowners have access to fixed, pre-tariff pricing through Solarize Fairfield. Add in the 27% United Illuminating residential generation rate increases as of January 1 this year, and the timing of the program is opportune to help homeowners take advantage of existing incentives and discounts.

"My family made the choice to go solar because we knew it would save us money and contribute to a healthier society,” explains State Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey. “Solar panels emit a lot less nitrous and sulfur oxides, carbon dioxide and particulate matter than other electricity fuel sources.  This means we all breathe cleaner air and have fewer respiratory and cardiovascular issues.”

Residents who have not already signed up to have their home evaluated for solar at no charge through the town-supported campaign can do so by visiting http://solarizect.com/signup/ and selecting Fairfield as the community from the drop-down menu.

Solarize Fairfield offers residents the chance to go solar with no money down and invest in the health of their home’s budget – and the health of the natural environment too. The last solar workshop will be Tuesday, Feb. 6th, 7 pm at Greenfield Hill Congregation Church, 1045 Old Academy Rd. A free showing of “An Inconvenient Sequel” is also offered to the public on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 pm at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Rd, exploring the environmental issues making renewable energy so compelling.

Solarize Fairfield offers participants discounted pricing for solar panels through the program’s designated installer, All Green it Solar, making it more affordable for people who live, work, and worship in Fairfield to go solar.

Winter’s gloom persists, but now is a great time to gear up and tap the power of the sun this spring, while the federal tax credit is still in full effect and state and town incentives are available.
