Authored for the Town by the Sustainable Fairfield Task Force (SFTF), with input from Town officials and other stakeholders, the plan was initially introduced to the Town for comment and feedback in January. The plan captures for the first time current as well as planned actions for enhancing Fairfield’s sustainability across 10 areas: air, the built environment, education and outreach, energy, financial management, food, the natural environment, transportation, waste management, and water.
Residents can view the plan on the Town Website, http://www.fairfieldct.org/sustainabilityplan.
Comments on the plan can also be provided by email to fairfieldcleanenergy@gmail.com.
The plan provides specific details on how Fairfield’s residents can join the ongoing effort to improve community sustainability. “Residents already have provided invaluable feedback on how to make our plan even stronger,” said Scott Thompson, SFTF Chairman. “We encourage residents to add their voices to our planning process so that our plan reflects their concerns for the viability and health of the Fairfield community as fully as possible.”
