Fairfield, CT - The Town Tree Warden announced that United Illuminating (UI) is continuing its Enhanced Tree Trimming/Tree Removal Program in the Mill Plain and the Greenfield Hill sections of Fairfield.

Work along Mill Plain Road has already begun and all other work will begin in December along the following roads:

• Mill Plain Road to Brookside
• Corner of Brookside/Burr to Congress
• Corner of Brookside/Burr to Galloping Hill
• Corner of Mill Plain/Stillson to Black Rock
• North Benson Road starting at Judd Street to Stillson Road

In 2016, the United Illuminating (UI) completed its pilot program in Fairfield to trim or remove trees. The main goal and objective of the pilot program was to achieve more electrical reliability during severe weather events by removing hazardous trees and overhanging tree limbs. The pilot program was created to help the public better understand how this program will be implemented throughout the Town over the next five years.
