Town of Fairfield Issues Statement on Coronavirus

Fairfield, CT - The Town of Fairfield today issued a statement about the Coronavirus, offering prevention actions and response guidance, as follows...

Dear Local Businesses and Employers,

While the risk for transmission of COVID-19 remains low, the Town of Fairfield is taking the COVID-19 issue very seriously. The situation is changing rapidly and now is the time to prepare.

At this time we are asking all businesses and employers to review potential impacts and how you will be able to maintain essential services in the event of local COVID-19 transmission. There are COVID-19 prevention actions, educational materials and guidance documents specifically for businesses and employers located on the CDC’s webpage which can be found at the link provided: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/guidance-business-response.html.

Some basic prevention tips you and your employees should take now to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses like COVID-19 are:

  • You and your employees should stay home if you’re sick and contact your medical providers
  • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently
  • Cover your cough/sneeze
  • Disinfect and clean high contact surfaces frequently

The Health Department is in weekly communications with the CDC and the CT Department of Public Health and will provide updates to you as needed. We will be posting current information on our webpage (www.fairfieldct.org/health) and social media accounts (Facebook: @Fairfield Health Department, Instagram @FairfieldHealth, and Twitter @FairfieldHD).
