Fairfield Health Dept Offering Flu Shots

FAIRFIELD, CT – The Fairfield Health Department is urging all residents to receive the flu vaccine this year. The single best way to protect yourself and those around you from the flu is to get vaccinated. It is recommended that everyone over the age of six months receive the flu vaccine every year. It takes about two weeks after the receiving the flu vaccine for the body to develop protection against the flu virus so now is a good time to get vaccinated.

The Health Department will be hosting many small flu clinics this year for adults and children age 3 and older.

The first date will be on:

Wednesday, September 23 from 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm by APPOINTMENT ONLY

This clinic will take place outside on the soccer field at 100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will take place inside the gymnasium of the senior center. Please call 203-256-3150 to schedule an appointment.

For additional clinic dates, please check the Fairfield Health Department's website at www.fairfieldct.org/health and/or the Health Dept's social media.

Medicare Part B, Connecticare, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, and United HealthCare are all accepted and there is no copay. This is a CASHLESS clinic, credit cards and checks will be accepted. Cash price for the Flu vaccine is $30, and the High Dose vaccine is $65.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all individuals are required to wear a cloth face covering. Please print out the vaccine consent form at www.fairfieldct.org/health and bring it completed. Patients should have their insurance card with them and wear clothes that make it easy to expose the upper arm.
