Fairfield Health Dept. Hosting An Additional Flu Clinic, Oct. 29

FAIRFIELD, CT – The Fairfield Health Department is urging residents to get vaccinated against the flu this year. It is recommended that everyone over the age of 6 months receive the flu vaccine every year. The Health Department will host an additional flu clinic this season for adults and children age 5 and older. 

The flu clinic will be held on Friday, October 29 from 10am-5pm

The clinic will take place at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities in the Gymnasium, located at 100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield. No appointment necessary. 

The flu vaccine will be available in injection form only for people 5 years and older. High Dose is also available for those over the age of 65. The Pneumonia vaccine, Pneumovax 23, will also be available for those over the age of 65.  

Medicare Part B, Connecticare, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, United HealthCare, and Oxford are all accepted and there is no co pay.  Out of pocket price for the Flu vaccine is $30, the High Dose vaccine is $65 and the Pneumonia vaccine is $65. This is a CASHLESS clinic, credit cards and checks will be accepted.

For a quicker visit, patients can print out the vaccine consent form at fairfieldct.org/health and bring it completed. Patients should also have their insurance card with them and wear clothes that make it easy to expose the upper arm.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all individuals are required to wear a face covering regardless of vaccination status

In addition, the Griffin Health Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Van will also be attending our clinic (10am – 5pm). Individuals can receive their first and second dose of Pfizer (12 years +), Moderna (18 years +) or Johnson and Johnson (18 years +). They will also be giving out booster shots to those who are eligible.
