FAIRFIELD, CT - The Fairfield Fire Department, in partnership with the Connecticut Career Fire Chief Association and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), will be holding a press conference and statewide media kickoff promoting UL’s “Take Charge of Battery Safety Program”.
The program, developed by Underwriters Laboratories Fire Safety Research Institute, is designed to educate the fire service and public on how to prevent and mitigate fires involving lithium-ion batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries have become part of our everyday lives at home and even in the fire service. Using them safely and charging them properly in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations are key measures to help prevent fires and keep our families safe.
A Press Conference will be held at the Fairfield Regional Fire Training School (205 Richard White Way) on Wednesday, December 6 at 10am. All are welcome to attend.
