The Greenwich Art Society presents Alla Prima Landscape Oil Painting Workshop on August 26

The Greenwich Art Society presents new Alla Prima Landscape Oil Painting Workshop on August 26 from 10am to 3:30 pm (in person)

(Advanced Beginner to Intermediate/Adults & Teens) with Eddie Nino

Alla Prima is a method of direct painting in which the artist finishes a painting in a single sitting. By working from landscape photographs, students will find a way to learn the essentials of finishing a painting in a short amount of time. Students will also be taught techniques of painting that will help them understand how famous artists like John Singer Sargent and Edouard Manet (among others) worked in bold painterly ways with the aim of capturing a scene with the fewest brushstrokes possible. Frequent demonstrations and class critiques will help all students understand ideas on the process and layering of this fun technique. A suggested materials list will be provided once enrollment for class is met. Held in G.A.S. Studio with physical distance zones and other precautions.
