Tonight and tomorrow, the Wadsworth Atheneum will host special events in conjunction with their current exhibit Coney Island: Visions of an American Dreamland.
Tonight, Friday, February 27, at 6:30 pm, the Coney Island Circus Sideshow features "a live Burmese python, an electric chair, a bed of nails, a sword swallower, and more!" Admission $10 - $20.
On Saturday, February 28, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the Symposium: An Intersection of Art & Identity explores "the lure and powerful influence of Coney Island through the eyes of artists, filmmakers, and social historians." Admission is $15 - $30 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
