Hartford Stage's Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder Earn 4 Tony Awards

Hartford Stage's Artistic Director, Darko Tresnjak, and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder earned 4 Tony Awards on June 8, according to the American Theatre Wing.

Having had its world premiere at Hartford Stage in 2012, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. Darko Tresnjak, the theatre's Artistic Director since 2012, won the Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical. Writer Robert L. Freedman won the Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical, and Linda Cho, a collaborator of Darko Tresnjak's on more than 30 productions, earned the Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical.

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, Hartford Stage previously won the Tony Award for Excellence in Regional Theatre in 1988.

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder opened on Broadway last October.
