An Eclectic Spot for Coffee in the West End

Back when I lived in New London, I loved the fact that I could walk from my building to many different coffee shops. (I started writing a series of blog posts about them shortly before I moved to Hartford.) Since moving here I've been slowly getting to know where the best spots are to get a cup of coffee or tea.

Though they're not all within walking distance, because Hartford is a much larger city, I happen to live just a few blocks from Tisane, my neighborhood's go-to place for warm beverages. This West End café is not strictly a coffee shop. It's a restaurant (the menu is described as Euro-Asian) which serves pretty cocktails in addition to its namesake herbal brews. Oh, and at night there are DJs and karaoke and I don't even know what else.

But I've only been there a few times so far, and I've only had coffee. So while I can't yet speak to Tisane's cuisine (or Tisane's tisanes) I can say that everyone I've encountered working there has been friendly and welcoming. Now if only I can figure out the timing of the pedestrian walk signals on Farmington Avenue, I'm set.
