Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools New Initiative to Help Catholic Schools

This has been an unprecedented year in the life of our Catholic schools, our communities, and the world at large.  Our pastors and educators rose to the challenge when our schools were directed to provide remote learning at the end of the 2019-20 academic year, and they excelled!

In the words of one Catholic school parent: “This pandemic has brought to light the dedication of the staff, teachers, families, and students…I believe it is a direct result of the culture in our schools”.

Since the opening of our schools for the 2020-21 academic year, the staff in Catholic schools are a shining ray of hope for our students, their families, their parishes and the communities we serve.  The Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools (FACS) commends these fine people for their efforts and has stepped up to be with these schools in these trying times.

The Foundation has made a gift in the form of a grant of $7,500 for every Archdiocesan Catholic elementary and high school to help defray costs associated with implementing COVID- 19 safety initiatives.

These funds are to be used exclusively for COVID-19 safety preparedness undertaken by our schools for in-school learning.

FACS believes this is a very worthwhile effort which will truly have an impact on schools’ ability to weather this storm. We are most happy to provide strong and concrete support for our Catholic school communities through this COVID-19 restricted grant.  We appreciate the extraordinary efforts of our pastors, school leaders and teachers in living the mission of Catholic education within our broader communities.

FACS awards for academic year 2020-2021, including these grants, now total $725,818, one the highest amounts awarded annually in FACS history.

FACS is a 501(c)(3) organization; your gifts are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
