Nutmeg Donates 300 Backpacks to Students in Need

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union has donated 300 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need throughout the greater Hartford area.

A long standing supporter of community initiatives, this is the fifth year Nutmeg has donated backpacks and school supplies to local kids in need. This is the largest school supply donation to date for the credit union. Backpacks have been donated to Hartford’s Catholic Charities and distributed to local students. These supplies are much needed by many families and students to begin the school year.

“We believe in financial education, but we also believe in education as a whole. Students deserve to start their school year off right and we are happy to help them get there,” says John Holt, President and CEO of Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union.

The backpacks have been distributed to students and their families prior to the start of school in the Greater Hartford Area.
