Nutmeg Donates School Supplies For Hartford Students In Need

CREDIT UNION CONTINUES BACKPACK DONATION INITIATIVE FOR FIFTH YEAR

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union recently donated over 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to students throughout the greater Hartford area.

As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and long-time supporter of local charities, this is Nutmeg’s fifth year of donating backpacks and school supplies. Since the start of this initiative in 2015, the credit union has donated a total of over one thousand backpacks to further the education of students in the Hartford area. To many, these donations are crucial to beginning the academic year successfully.

“We’re happy to give back to our communities in any way we can,” said John Holt, President and CEO of Nutmeg. “And while we may stress the importance of financial education, we also know how important it is for students to start off the school year right with the supplies they need.”
