Assisted Living Services, Inc. Rises in the Ranks of Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies

Only CT Company in the Health Industry to Make Prestigious 2020 Inc. 5000 With Three-Year Revenue Growth of 87 Percent.

Assisted Living Services, Inc. in Cheshire today announced that it has earned a position on the highly coveted annual Inc. 5000 list for 2020, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Assisted Living Services (ALS) is one of 36 Connecticut businesses who earned the distinction and the only one in the Health Industry category.  Making the Inc. 5000 list is most noteworthy given the fact there are over 30 million small businesses throughout the United States.

For the past two years Assisted Living Services, Inc. has adopted a performance management framework known as Objectives & Key Results. It allows the company to align its goals from top to bottom and measure progress. “One key to our success is that we put most of our emphasis on achieving audacious quality goals first and foremost. The other is that we strive to surround ourselves with the very best talent – from managers to field staff,” according to Ron D’Aquila RN, CEO.

“We have remained a family-owned and operated company since 1996, and to achieve this level of national recognition is a testament to the dedication of our entire team,” says Mario D’Aquila, MBA and Chief Operating Officer of ALS. “We pride ourselves on leading industry trends as we constantly adapt to a changing business environment. Demand for quality in-home care has exploded as Baby Boomers retire and prefer to age in place.”

D’Aquila notes the company’s astounding 87% revenue growth over the last three years also stems from its expansion into Fairfield County, moving its headquarters from Meriden to a larger office complex in Cheshire, as well as continued cultivation of positive relationships with key state agencies, business partners and industry associations. ALS is a credentialed provider with the CT Homecare Program for Elders administered through the Department of Social Services for seniors who are eligible for the state Medicaid program.

ALS has been honored with many local and national awards as a respected innovator in the home healthcare arena. Its unique CarePlus program blends providing personal care with state-of-the-art safety and monitoring devices from sister company Assisted Living Technologies, Inc. The technologies used help to reduce falls, improve medication compliance, and improve rapid access to emergency care.

In March 2019, ALS launched the unprecedented Platinum Caregiver program that awards $5,000 to recognize outstanding caregivers every month.

“Our reputation has been built on our most valuable asset, our employees,” says D’Aquila. “Since day one ALS has been committed to providing a positive working environment to ensure our clients have well-trained, compassionate caregivers. We also consider the rave reviews from the scores of happy families that we have served over the years as the greatest indicators of our success.”

Assisted Living Services, Inc. is owned and operated by Sharon and Ron D’Aquila, RN. Sons Mario D’Aquila, MBA, COO and Nicholas D’Aquila, MBA, CIO, are heavily involved in operations. A company profile of Assisted Living Services, along with complete results of the Inc. 5000 and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000. The top 500 companies are also being featured in the September issue of Inc., available on newsstands August 12.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

The annual Inc. 5000 event honoring the companies on the list will be held virtually from October 23 to 27, 2020.

More about Inc. and the Inc. 5000

Methodology

The 2020 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2019. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2016 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
