Aquiline Drones Lands at Hartford’s XL Center for Flight Training

What happens when a 50-year-old Connecticut landmark meets a new high-tech drone enterprise in the same city? An exciting urban revitalization takes place that promises to infuse more energy and economically enhance activities to benefit both businesses and individuals alike. Today, Aquiline Drones Corporation (AD), a Hartford-based drone solutions provider, and the XL Center, the state's premier sports and entertainment facility, announced a strategic alliance that promises to attract more visitors and business owners to the downtown Hartford area.

Since January, A.D has conducted all the company's commercial drone flight training for its Flight to the Future (F2F) program students, including first responders, deep inside the spacious XL Center.

"Aquiline Drones has been searching for a prominent indoor site for our drone pilot training since we set up shop in Hartford's historic Stark Building in 2019 and launched our Flight to the Future program during the summer of 2020", said Aquiline's Founder and CEO Barry Alexander. "We are delighted that our new training facility will be located a few short blocks away in the heart of this amazing city."

"Using the captivating resources of a local company to showcase what Hartford has to offer just makes sense," said Michael Freimuth, Executive Director at Capital Region Development Authority, which operates the XL Center. "Unlike events that have canceled due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, Aquiline Drones' flight training will be a regular feature in our arena."

AD's proprietary F2F interactive online course teaches students 18 and over the safe and effective drone and cloud technology - embedded with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to execute drone missions. Besides earning their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 commercial drone pilot certification, program participants will also learn about cloud computing, AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other technologies transforming the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry.

The educational content is available on-demand at any time so that participants can take the course at their own pace and convenience.

In 2021, AD began offering its F2F training without charge to all first responders in the nation. Currently, there are over 500 police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians enrolled in the program.

"As a company founded by veteran airline pilots, safety has always been paramount to us and is the cornerstone of our growth," adds Alexander. "Drones are eyes in the sky and offer immeasurable benefits to the public safety industry - ultimately protecting and saving human life, which is priceless."

The new AD and XL Center alliance plans include drone light shows and a public drone showroom.
