Permanent Jewelry Now in CT is Summer's Sizzling Style Trend

Jewelry is often given to mark milestones such as graduations, weddings and birthdays. Now, permanent jewelry offers a beautiful way to forever link friends and family. Baribault Jewelers in Glastonbury is one of the first to offer the hottest summer style trend in Connecticut. Typically, a bracelet, the 14k-gold jewelry commemorates friendships, bridal parties, or family bonds such as sister-sister or mother-daughter.

“Permanent sounds so intimidating, but it really just describes a simple process to custom fit a keepsake piece of jewelry,” explains Christina Baribault-Ortiz of Baribault Jewelers and co-founder of The Power to B jewelry collection. “Unlike a tattoo, this memento of a special occasion can be removed easily at any time by cutting it off yourself with a pair of scissors.

Recently spotted on Hollywood celebs like Megan Markle, Elizabeth Olsen and Michelle Williams, Baribault-Ortiz shares the three steps to securing B Linked permanent jewelry that ranges in price from $20-45 per inch:

1. Choose a time slot - Appointments are limited, so book in advance online. Group discounts are available for bachelorette parties, birthdays, bridal showers, etc.

2. Choose your chain -Select one of four beautiful 14k-gold chains. Want more than one bracelet? Mix and match styles.

3. Linked - The chain will then be measured to your wrist and painlessly welded shut using high heat.

“The bracelets are so light and dainty you’ll barely feel them on your wrist, plus they are waterproof,” adds Raeann Baribault-Schwartz, co-owner of Baribault Jewelers and The Power to B jewelry collection We don’t recommend this process if you are allergic to gold; however, we can do customer orders for 14k white gold, since silver does not wear as well over time.”

Baribault-Schwartz notes that while the welding process only takes a second, fitting the bracelets can take time, so expect approximately a 30-minute wait when getting your permanent jewelry applied. Anklets and necklaces are available, but are much more likely to get snagged, stretched, or broken. The minimum welding age is 10. Anyone under 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian’s present.

The chains will pass through airport security, but you may be required to remove your jewelry during medical procedures such as X-Rays or MRI’s. Consult your doctor if this will be required. If it is necessary, cut the ring that attaches the chain together to ensure the cleanest look. Re-welds cost $10.

“If your jewelry were to break, we will do our best to repair it, as it’s supposed to be a lasting connection to a loved one,” says Baribault-Schwartz. “Based on our decades in the industry, we truly believe this is one trend that is here to stay.”
