Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center And A Promise To Jordan Team Up For 'Untapped, A Recovery-Friendly Festival' On Sept. 25

The Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center (SMPAC) and Simsbury nonprofit A Promise to Jordan (APTJ) are partnering to present the inaugural Simsbury UnTapped: A Recovery-Friendly Festival. This substance-free family event, on September 25, 2022, from 1-5 p.m., will be an afternoon of fun and hope for everyone, not just those in recovery!

Simsbury UnTapped will feature great food, non-alcoholic beverages, live entertainment, art exhibits, shopping, raffles, and plenty of activities for the kids! Artists and entertainers in recovery and recovery-friendly businesses are encouraged to participate. Businesses can find out more about vendor opportunities by emailing sarah@simsburymeadowsmusic.com.

A local motorcycle club will also be organizing a motorcycle show in the event parking lot. Anyone interested in showing their bike should email info@apromisetojordan.org.

Details and a link to purchase tickets can be found at www.simsburymeadowsmusic.com/untapped. Admission to the event is free for children aged 10 and under, and tickets for those over 10 are just $10, with a portion of the proceeds from the event directly benefiting APTJ, which is dedicated to raising awareness about and eliminating the stigma of addiction, assisting people with accessing quality care, and giving hope that recovery is possible for those struggling with substance use disorders and their loved ones.

“We are so excited to partner with SMPAC to present Simsbury’s first recovery-friendly festival,” said Lisa Gray, founder and executive director of A Promise to Jordan. “It has been such a pleasure to work with them on this project and witness their commitment to producing this event. We hope the entire community will come out and see what fun they can have without substances!”

Gray added, “We are also accepting raffle donations such as gift cards, gift baskets, home décor, jewelry and fashion items, gourmet treats, and tickets to entertainment and travel destinations.

The event will be made possible by many generous businesses and individuals, including Gold Sponsors Berkley Healthcare and Hart Curb Appeal LLC, and Bronze Sponsors Stefanie Curran and Tracy Orloff.
