Gerry notes that a standard oven maxes out at 550°F, but pizza requires temperatures up to 900°F to achieve a crispy exterior crust with a delicious chewy interior. The high heat also reduces the length of time it takes for a pizza to bake, so everyone can customize their own without the long wait. Portable pizza ovens can either be powered through propane or wood. The oven can be placed on any sturdy, waist-level surface that can handle the heat.
