New Britain Family’s Gratitude Garners Caregiver $5,000 Award

There were lots of hugs and happy tears from Elizabeth Acquah, a caregiver with Assisted Living Services, Inc., when she was surprised with the $5,000 Platinum Caregiver Award for October at the New Britain home of her client, Carmella Chiger on November 14, 2019. Acquah is the latest employee to earn the recognition from Assisted Living Services, Inc. (ALS) in Cheshire.

Mario D’Aquila, MBA and Chief Operating Officer of ALS, led the prize squad that presented the giant check along with Tom Daly, Director of Live-in Services and Kristin Mercadante, Live-In Services Coordinator. Chiger’s daughter Donna Gryzbo and other family members wanted to be there as well to help Acquah celebrate.

Acquah was selected based on a nomination submitted by Chiger's family that praised her for “taking really good care of her mother, keeping the house immaculate and always being upbeat and happy”.

Acquah has been an exemplary CNA (Certified Nursing Aide) at ALS since March 2014. In addition to a check for $5,000, the monthly Platinum Caregiver Award includes a beautiful crystal statue and a certificate of merit.
