Did you know bestselling novelist Jennifer Weiner grew up in Connecticut? The Simsbury High School graduate will come home on Saturday as the featured speaker for the March of Dimes Brunch for Babies held in Avon.
Weiner's first smash hit was "Good in Bed" (2001) about a plus-sized pop-culture reporter with a nasty actor ex-boyfriend. Her follow-up novel, "In Her Shoes" (2002), followed two sisters, with seemingly little in common, and was made into a film starring Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, and Shirley MacLaine. Weiner has since written nine more novels, including the recently released "All Fall Down" about a suburban wife and mother struggling with addiction.
MaryEllen Fillo of "The Hartford Courant" did a fun and informative Q&A with the author. Click here to read it.
