
The Mount Kisco-based company, Diamond Properties, recently received two awards at the Westchester Green Business Challenge’s 5th Annual Recognition Event and Awards Ceremony. The event was hosted by Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino and Dr. Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of The Business Council of Westchester, and held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains.
Joined by WGBC Program Directors Dani Glaser and Scott Fernqvist, organizers recognized a prestigious group of Westchester organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability and outstanding achievements.
This year’s winners in their respective categories include:

Among this year’s winners, Mount Kisco-based Diamond Properties won Outstanding Achievement in the Transportation category for their many new advances toward building more sustainable office spaces. Diamond Properties has implemented a comprehensive sustainable transportation program that includes electric car charging stations, incentives to take public transportation, incentives for the purchase of hybrid vehicles, bike racks and discounted showers/gym memberships for employees who bike to work.
“Both personally and as a company, we care about sustainability,” said Jim Diamond, Managing Member of Diamond Properties. “It makes sense economically and it makes sense for the environment.” Diamond Properties was a pilot member of WGB-Certified and one of the first to achieve certification.
