Welcome summer with Andes Manta in concert at Lasdon Park on June 22! The concert takes place from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
ANDES MANTA performs the vibrant music of the Andes on more than 35 traditional instruments. From the lyrical sound of the quena, or Andean Flute, to the haunting tones of the six-foot long pan-pipes, the music of ANDES MANTA is an experience that never fails to bring audiences to their feet.
Children and adults will be immersed in the subtle tones of the Andean music which is one of the few authentic prehistoric culture forms to survive for more than five hundred years. Many indigenous South Americans believe that it is the music that preserves the heart and soul of the ancient ones. Far from being melancholy, the music of ANDES MANTA is a joyous celebration of daily life. Andes Manta encourages audience interaction where some children can participate in making music with the artists.
Weather permitting the concert will be followed by “Star Gazing” hosted by Westchester’s Amateur Astronomers.
