Live music is back at The Ridgefield Playhouse! After last year’s successful shows under the tent, The Playhouse is at again! Outdoor concerts kick off this weekend with 7-time Grammy Award winner Christian McBride & Tip City on Friday, May 7 at 7pm followed by Rusted Root frontman and lead singer Michael Glabicki with bandmate Dirk Miller on Saturday, May 8 at 7:30pm! Livestream tickets available for Michael Glabicki's show. Both shows will be socially distanced, with seating under the tent at The Playhouse.
Fresh off his 7th Grammy win at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Jazz Master Christian McBride returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse with an outdoor, socially distanced concert McBride makes his only Connecticut appearance at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday May 7 at 7pm along with Tip City featuring Emmet Cohen and Dan Wilson as part of the Moffly Media Evening of Art, Wine and Jazz Series. Ticket holders can enjoy an art exhibit by Chris Osborne before the performance and are invited to enter a FREE raffle to win a great prize from Freixenet Mionetto! After ending 2020 as Jazz Artist of the Year in the DownBeat Readers Poll, McBride won his 7th Grammy Award in the Best Jazz Instrumental Album category for his work on “Trilogy 2” alongside jazz fusion icon Chick Corea. The bandleader, composer, bassist, jazz radio host, festival artistic director and jazz ambassador has collaborated with artists across all music genres.
