There is a lot to HOWL about in April at Wolf Conservation Center!

Wolves of North America

Date: April 2, 2022

Fee: $14 – adults / $11 – children under 12

Learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why it’s a special time for packs in North America. Whether the wolves are living on the Arctic tundra or the woodlands of the southwest, wolf families are out searching for prey as they celebrate the arrival of spring! Guests will visit Ambassador Wolves Alawa, Nikai and Zephyr as well as potentially behold the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves too. 

Pre-registration is required.

Evening Howl

Date: April 2, 2022

Time: 5 pm

Fee: $20 per person

Enjoy visiting the wolves during their favorite hour – dusk. Learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why April is a magical time for packs in North America. Guests will take a short sunset hike to howl with Ambassador wolves Alawa, Nikai and Zephyr and potentially behold the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican wolves. Please bring flashlights.  Pre-registration is required.

Photo Session

Date: April 10, 2022

Time: 8 am

Fee: $100 per person

Join us for this special opportunity to photograph the WCC’s Ambassador Wolves: Nikai, Alawa, and Zephyr! Guests will also be given access to photograph the WCC’s endangered Mexican wolves and red wolves from vantage points not generally available during regular visits. Space is very limited, so make your reservation early. Pre-registration is required.

Join us as we celebrate the birthdays of three of our most popular wolves: Zephyr, Alawa, and Nikai! Learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why this season is such a magical time for packs in North America. Guests will assemble “wolfy” gifts for Ambassador wolves Alawa, Nikai and Zephyr and then enjoy watching the wolves tear them open! Guests will also possibly see some of the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Pre-registration is required.

Full Moon Wolf Walk

Date: April 16, 2022

Time: 5 pm

Fee: $20 per person

Celebrate the April full moon with wolves! Guests will learn about the history of wolves in the United States, the importance of wolves in a healthy ecosystem and the efforts to save these magnificent creatures for future generations. Guests will also take will take a short walk to visit Ambassador Wolves Alawa, Zephyr, and Nikai, and will hopefully enjoy a symphony of howls from the 30+ wolves that call the WCC home! Please bring flashlights. Pre-registration is required.

Egg Hunt with Wolves

Date: April 17, 2022

Time: 11 am

Fee: $14 – adults / $11 – children under 12

Make your holiday the wildest one yet! Join us Easter weekend to learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolves in North America and then join in an egg-hunt with a twist! Instead of looking for eggs, guests will help hide them for Ambassador Wolves Alawa, Nikai and Zephyr to find. Guests will also potentially behold some of the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Pre-registration is required.
