Major Winter Storm Predicted to Dump a Foot or More of Snow in Katonah

Winter Storm Watch Wednesday Afternoon into Thursday Morning for Tri-State Region

The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts significant impacts from a major winter storm beginning tomorrow afternoon Wednesday, December 16 into Thursday morning with the potential of 12 to 18 inches of snow. Wind gusts could reach 35 mph and cause power outages.

Heavy snow, strong winds, and minor to moderate coastal flooding are the main hazards associated with this system, according to NWS.  

Additionally, NWS says a Gale Watch is now in effect for area waters Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
