Metro North's Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Schedules

Metro North Rail Road (MNRR) has cooked up a special holiday timetable to get you where you need to go this Thanksgiving.

On Wednesday, November 24: Metro-North will get you on your way with 10 additional early-getaway trains (3 Hudson Line trains, 2 Harlem Line trains and 5 New Haven Line trains) departing Grand Central Terminal between 12:05-3:05 p.m.

For Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, we're operating on a Saturday schedule with additional inbound morning service for customers going to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. There will also be expanded outbound service starting in the late morning and continuing until mid-afternoon for customers traveling to destinations outside the city.

On Friday, November 26, we're running an expanded Saturday schedule with extra service in the morning and evening rush periods.

MNRR is running Saturday and Sunday schedules on the 26th and 27th of November, with additional cars on several trains.

Plan Ahead

Buy your tickets in advance and bring a mask. Masks covering your nose and mouth are required on all Metro-North trains, in all stations and in Grand Central Terminal.

Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year, and if you're leaving Manhattan after the parade, you must have your ticket and a mask before boarding your train at Grand Central Terminal or Harlem-125th Street Station. MNRR strongly suggest you skip the ticket machine line by using MTA eTix on your iPhone or Android (you'll be 'thankful' you did!).
