Playland is the place to be for fireworks all summer

Get ready to ooh and aah when spectacular fireworks illuminate the sky over Playland Park this summer season.

County Executive George Latimer said: “After being closed to the public for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am excited to welcome thousands of people from all over Westchester County back to a Playland to gather for Friday night fireworks. It’s a summer tradition to cap off a day at the park with celebratory fireworks.”

Fireworks displays over Long Island Sound will take place Friday, July 9, at 9:15 p.m. and then every Friday evening through September 3 with a final show on Sunday, September 5,. All shows start at 9:15 p.m.

Commissioner Kathy O’Connor said: “Whether you come for the rides at the park or a dip at the beach and stay for the fireworks, you get a lot of bang for your buck.”
