Two friends, rebellious Melissa Gardner and straight-arrow Andrew Makepeace Ladd, III have exchanged notes, cards and letters with each other for over 50 years. From second grade, through summer vacations, to college, and well into adulthood, they have spent a lifetime discussing their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, and victories and defeats. But long after the letters are done, the real question remains: Have they made the right choices or is the love of their life only a letter away?

While most popular for her role as "Jeannie" on the hit television series “I Dream of Jeannie,” Barbara Eden has starred in more than 20 theatrical feature films and made-for-television movies, as well as touring in musicals such as The Sound of Music (1965) and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1998). Film highlights include Harper Valley PTA (1978) Chattanooga Choo Choo (1984) and Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea (1961).

Song and dance man, Hal Linden began his Broadway career performing in such musicals as On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Subways Are for Sleeping, The Apple Tree and The Pajama Game. He won the 1971 Tony award for his role in The Rothschilds. This led to television roles, his most popular being the police Captain with a heart of gold, of the fictional Greenwich Village 12th precinct, on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s sitcom, “Barney Miller.”
