Town of Lewisboro COVID-19 Update: Masks, Community Survey, and More

Today is Wednesday, April 15th.  Today was a rather serious day filled with tele-meetings, problem-solving and communicating with one another about possible plans and initiatives.  The County reports now indicate that we have added 1 to our number, making the total for the Town of Lewisboro 47.

FIRST THINGS FIRST:

The news with the biggest local impact today is the announcement of the Governor’s Order that will require all New Yorkers to wear a mask when 6 feet of social distance cannot be guaranteed in a public setting, such as a grocery store or a pharmacy.  A cloth covering such as a bandana, a scarf or a child’s old T-shirt repurposed is acceptable.  We have 3 days in order to prepare for compliance, so please make plans quickly and don’t forget.  Leave an option or two in your car!

The following links are suggestions if you want to purchase a mask, but keep in mind that medical personnel and first responders need these supplies most:

CENSUS UPDATE:

There was an important announcement released by the Census Bureau late yesterday afternoon. They have now pushed back the end date of the Census data collection to October 31st. This is because they have now pushed back the start of their field operations to June 1st.

Have you checked in our friendly wager with Bedford?  Our next Town Board meeting is in 12 days.  If we are behind Bedford at that time (unlikely if you do your part), Supervisor Parsons will be wearing a Bedford Baseball Cap.  The next Bedford Town Board meeting is in 6 days and if Lewisboro is leading in Census response numbers (very likely), then Supervisor Burdick will be wearing a Lewisboro Baseball Cap. Tune in for the fun!

LEWISBORO LIONS UPDATE:

At the recommendation of our first responders, and for the safety of all, this weekend’s Lions Roadside cleanup is canceled.  It will be rescheduled for a future date.

COMMUNICATIONS SURVEY:

We developed a survey to gain input about communications going forward.  We’d be grateful if you’d take 5 minutes and fill it out.
