National Book Award Winner Colson Whitehead to Speak in Madison on July 19

RJ Julia Booksellers will host National Book Award, Pulitzer Prize winning, author Colson Whitehead for the launch of The Nickel Boys, the much anticipated follow up to his bestselling book, The Underground Railroad.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. on July 19 at the First Congregational Church in Madison, Conn. The Nickel Boys dramatizes the true story of a Florida reform school through the lens of two boys sentenced to it during Jim Crow-era Florida.

Whitehead is the author of nine books of fiction and non-fiction, including The Underground Railroad, which was a #1 New York Times bestseller and won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. A recipient of MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellowships, Whitehead lives in New York City.
