BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Bridgeport police say eight bomb threats against city schools in the past week have put a strain on resources.
Each of the city's three public high schools reported a threat on Tuesday.
All of the threats have involved phone calls or messages written on bathroom mirrors indicating a bomb will go off in the school. Four of the threats have come against Bassick High School.
Police Superintendent Paul Vallas tells the Connecticut Post (http://bit.ly/16gAvzn) the threats appear to be hoaxes, but he says police have to evacuate the schools each time and send officers and firefighters to the scene.
Police arrested a Bassick student after the first incident, but Vallas says more than one person is responsible for the rash of threats.___
