
$19,500 IN SCHOLARSHIPS PRESENTED AT STATE OF THE CITY LUNCHEON
Milford, CT, May 28, 2014 – Twenty-two exceptional Milford students were presented with scholarships at Milford’s 2014 State of the City Address, held by the Milford Chamber of Commerce, Inc. on Friday, May 16th at Aldario’s Restaurant. The $19,500.00 in scholarships is funded through the Milford Chamber of Commerce Trust Fund which raises money for these annual scholarships through their BIC Golf Classic event. This year’s benefit tournament will take place on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Mill River Country Club in Stratford, CT. The community is invited to participate by calling 203-878-0681 to register.
The scholarships granted are for various fields of study. The Milford Chamber of Commerce Trust congratulates the 2014 recipients and wishes them best of luck in their future endeavors.

The Milford Chamber of Commerce Trust Fund was founded in 1981 for educational, charitable, scientific and literary purposes and is administered by the Milford Chamber of Commerce, Inc. The “Chamber Trust” is a nonprofit (501C-3). The Board of Trustees is comprised of Past Presidents/Chairmen of Milford Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
Over the past 20 years the Chamber Trust has provided funding for multiple charitable purposes including humanitarian aid to victims of natural disasters through such groups as the United Way of Milford, American Red Cross, Beth-El Shelter, Rotary Foundation and Sandy Hook Fund.
To date, the Chamber Trust has encouraged and fostered educational goals by awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to area youth, as well as providing mini-grants to students in the Milford school system.
