Southern CT Gas to be conducting a walk-through of Milford

Southern CT Gas (SCG) has notified Milford Police Department they will be doing a walk-through of Milford neighborhoods due to a recent upgrade throughout the City.

SCG has sent Milford residents with natural gas lines the following letter:

Dear SCG Customer,

As part of an ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable gas service, The SCG Company will be performing a system upgrade in your area. During the month of August, we will have people inspecting your gas service from the street to the meter. All of our employees and contractors have identification, so do not hesitate to ask someone for it if you have a concern. You do not need to be home or on premises during this time. If you have any questions about this work, you can contact me at (203) 795-7767 for more information.

Signed: Kevin Gerety, Engineering Manager, SCG

If you are not a SCG customer you would not have received this letter. If you notice an increase of workers in your area and are concerned, feel free to contact SCG to verify if that person is a SCG employee and is supposed to be there. If the person attempts to gain entry into your home without showing proper identification, call Milford Police.

Milford Police Department urges all residents to stay safe and not let anyone into your home if they do not have proper Identification and a valid reason to be on your property.

The time frame for this work will be August 8-12, 2016. Click here to view the list of streets affected by this upgrade.
