Milford Recreation Department hosts the annual Connecticut Recreation & Parks Association Hot Shots Contest on Wednesday, January 25, 2017

AGE GROUPS: Boys: ages 9-10, 11-12, 13-15 Girls: ages 9-10, 11-12, 13-15. Age corresponds to the age of the child on or before December 31, 2016. 
 
WHERE: Parsons Government Complex Gymnasium – 70 West River St. - Milford

WHEN:  Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
 
TIME:  1:00pm – Boys & Girls Age Group 13 – 15
          1:30pm – Boys & Girls Age Group 11 – 12
          2:00pm – Boys & Girls Age Group 9 – 10
 
Boys & Girls compete separately.         
 
REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required and must be done on line at www.milfordrecreation.com or in person at the Milford Recreation Department no later than Sunday, January 22, 2017 . Day-of registrations will not be accepted.

GENERAL: The Connecticut Recreation and Parks Association, Inc. HotShots Contest is a statewide event. Each player will have one minute to shoot from “hotspots” placed on one half of the court. Starting at the center of half-court, the player dribbles into shooting range. The contest challenges a player’s speed, shooting, dribbling, and rebounding ability. Three one-minute rounds constitute the duration of play for each player. The top scorer in each division will move on to the State Contest held on Saturday April 1, 2017 in Old Saybrook .  
 
All Local Contest results will be posted to www.milfordrecreation.com  by February 1, 2017.
