New Haven, CT - East Rock Brewing Company will unveil their Jogger Lager on August 23rd after the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race group training run. Long-time race participant, Mayor Justin Elicker, will join over thirty runners on the 5.18 mile loop (some runners will complete the loop twice) that starts at 6 p.m. from East Rock Brewing Company (285 Nicoll St.).
“At last year’s race I thought runners would enjoy a light lager after they ran,” said Tim Wilson, head brewer of East Rock Brewing Company. “My team created Jogger Lager for this year’s race and we hope everyone will enjoy it.” Jogger Lager will be served exclusively at East Rock Brewing Company. A limited quantity of the beer will be produced, and it will likely be gone after the Labor Day race. At the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race, runners 21 and over get a coupon for complimentary beer East Rock Brewing Company beer served on the New Haven Green.
After the group run, Elicker will present the official New Haven Road Race Jogger Lager created by East Rock Brewing Company. The beer is a crisp golden lager created locally in New Haven, CT! It will be available at East Rock Brewing Company leading up to the race and featured at the post-race party on the New Haven Green on Labor Day.
Nearly 5,000 runners will be participating in the Faxon Law New Haven Labor Day Road Race on Monday. The races consist of a half marathon, relay, 5K, Town Fair Tire Kids Fun Run and the signature 20K.
This year marks Elicker’s 13th 20K and 14th year running in the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race. He is the only Mayor of New Haven to ever cross the finish line at the city’s signature event.
“I always look forward to running the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race,” Mayor Elicker said. “It’s a great day for the city and one of my favorite days of the year.”
The event is organized by JB Sports and a team of local volunteers who make up our Board of Directors. New Haven Road Race President Michael Dolan states, “We’ve been fortunate to continually grow and improve throughout our history.
