Important Update from Mayor Tony Giannattasio: 50th Milford Oyster Festival

As we prepare to celebrate the 50th Milford Oyster Festival, I want to share some important details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Festival Schedule

The festivities will kick off on Friday, August 16 with Oyster Eve from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Fowler Field. The celebration will continue on Saturday, August 17 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM throughout downtown Milford.

Access Restrictions

Please be aware that access to the Milford Center area will be restricted on Saturday, August 17, from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

For those traveling by train, access to the Railroad Station parking areas will be available only from High Street.

Parking and Accessibility

Handicapped parking will be provided at the following locations:

  • Milford Senior Center
  • Harborside Middle School
  • Wasson Field parking lot adjacent to West Main Street

Senior and handicap-accessible shuttle transportation will be available to and from these locations. The shuttles will pick up and drop off at Milford Fire HQ, located across from the Milford Public Library.

Boat Launch Closure

Please note that the City Boat Launch will be closed from Friday, August 16 at 5:00 PM until Saturday, August 17 at 6:30 PM.

Shuttle Services for Festival Patrons

For your convenience, shuttle buses will be provided for festival attendees. The shuttles will pick up and drop off at two locations in Milford: Jonathan Law High School and Platt Technical High School. Shuttle services will operate from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 17.
