Mayor Giannattasio Invites Community to September 11th Remembrance Ceremony

Milford, CT, September 4, 2024- The City of Milford will remember the events of September 11, 2001 on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 with a ceremony of song and prayer at the September 11th Monument on the historic City Hall grounds. We mark the anniversary of this tragic event with a ringing of the bells by Fire Chief Anthony Fabrizi at 8:46 A.M.

In Milford, we remember victims Michael Miller and Avnish Patel, both graduates of Live Oaks School, as well as Seth Morris, who was a student at Mathewson School

Mayor Giannattasio invites all residents to attend the ceremony and asks everyone to take a moment of pause and remembrance in honor of those who died, and those who participated in rescue efforts on that tragic day.

If you are unable to attend the event the city has memorial sites you may visit including Live Oaks Elementary School memorial garden where Patel and Miller attended, a section along the Housatonic holds a "Flight 93 Heroes Park'' in honor of the passengers on the plane in Pennsylvania and a memorial bench sits in a small public park in Downtown Milford on River Street nestled in between shops and restaurants.
